Ylang-ylang essential oil has a sweet, exotic, and rich floral smell and is slightly yellow in color. The tree is usually found in the rainforests of Asian and South Pacific islands like Indonesia, Philippines, Java, Sumatra, Comoro, Polynesia, and Madagascar. Ylang-ylang oil is a rather interesting essential oil as its distillation varies a bit from most other oils. There are several grades of ylang-ylang essential oil which are extracted at different times during the flower's lengthy distillation. These grades are referred to as extra, I, II, & III.

Therapeutic Properties:

The therapeutic properties of ylang-ylang oil are antidepressant, antiseborrhoeic, antiseptic, aphrodisiac, hypotensive, nervine and sedative.
